The Society of Pediatric Cardiovascular Nurses is the only international organization dedicated to expanding nursing knowledge and expertise in the care of children and young adults with heart disease.

Welcome

SPCN members are all nurses involved in the care of children and young adults with congenital heart disease (CHD). Our 400 members come from almost every state in the United States and eleven countries. Our membership directory lists all current members with their specific areas of interest and employment. Many SPCN members are nationally respected leaders in the field of cardiovascular nursing. Some are principal investigators actively studying their individual or multi-site research questions related to CHD. The annual directory is available only to members either electronically on the password protected link on this site, or at your request, by US mail. We welcome new members. The membership application is available on this site and may be submitted electronically.

Members receive a newsletter twice a year in the spring and fall. Each newsletter has announcements about upcoming events, new publications, summer camps, job openings, etc. The Spring newsletter provides a summary of presentations made at our annual meeting and any presentations made by members at the previous AHA Scientific Sessions. Presentations are both clinical and research oriented. The Fall newsletter contains the ballot for officers, information about the upcoming annual meeting, and highlights of member involvement in the AHA Scientific Sessions. This newsletter is available electronically in the password protected link on this site or, per your request, by US mail.

Our annual meeting coincides with the Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association held each November. This meeting includes an educational component in addition to our business discussion. There is also an opportunity to network with SPCN members. All of our Board positions are voluntary. We encourage the active participation of all members.
